On the littoral part of the slopes of the mountain Biokovo above the small village Kotisina there is one botanical garden more, in our country.
It was established by an initiative of Jure Radic (Makarska) on the decision of the Assembly of Makarska community on 2nd October, 1984.
The garden is on the height above sea level from 350 m to 500 m and it is about 3 km far from Makarska and it occupies 16.5 hectares of space. It is an integral part of the previously preserved object so called Biokovo - a park of Nature.
The aims which were stressed while establishing the garden were multiplex: presenting the Biokovo flora and vegetation and also different morphologic shapes of the soil, climate of this extraordinary part of the Dinara massive.
There is a guide - book for the garden, and one can see that there are over 300 plant taxa in the garden.
