Although Croatia was participating Country to Barcelona Convention, marine turtles were without legal protection until 1995. By Law for protection of some reptile species from July 12, 1995, all marine turtle species are under the legal state protection. Therefore, it is forbidden their catching and killing, holding in captivity, sailing and exporting.
